Diagnosis of the institutional framework of the eight SLECs in the TTAH region

The aim of this diagnosis will be to carry out an in-depth analysis of the institutional framework, strategies and policies for sustainable development at three territorial levels (region, province/prefecture, commune).

As part of the implementation of the SLEC project activities, a chapter of paramount importance was initiated during the last quarter of 2023. This concerns the diagnostic of the institutional framework of each of the eight SLECs in the TTAH region. The objective of this diagnostic is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the institutional framework, strategies, and policies related to sustainable development across three territorial levels (region, province/prefecture, municipality).

This diagnostic will serve not only to assess the legislative ground’s readiness for the flourishing of projects such as the SLEC, but also to define the governance model of the SLEC structures as well as the modus operandi for their sustainability and management, at all levels.

This activity is currently being carried out by the EDIC consulting firm, through the organization of workshops in the municipalities, in the presence of decision-makers (the municipal President’s office) and authorized stakeholders, in a spirit of participation and consultation.

The workshops began on Monday, October 16, 2023, in the municipality of Chefchaouen and were led by the SLEC project coordination team from the TTAH region, together with consultants from EDIC. The mission for the institutional framework diagnostic is expected to be completed before the end of 2023.

The tour of workshops for the institutional framework diagnostic, still ongoing, followed the schedule below:
