As previously mentioned, the second step in the process of formalizing the involvement of the municipalities concerns the presentation and vote on the framework agreement during the regular sessions of the Regional Council and the Councils of the municipalities that signed the framework agreement.
The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council held its regular session on Monday, July 3, 2023, during which the 51 items on the agenda were discussed. The review and approval of the draft framework agreement related to the selection of municipalities for the implementation of Local Energy Climate Services (SLEC) was the 48th item discussed and voted on.
Starting in October 2023, the selected municipalities from the call for expressions of interest also began presenting the same framework agreement during their regular council sessions. Five municipalities have done so to date, following the schedule below:
– Tuesday, October 3, 2023, and Wednesday, October 4, 2023: presentation and vote of the framework agreement during the regular sessions of the municipalities of Ksar El Kébir and M’diq;
– Friday, October 6, 2023: this date marked the presentation and vote of the framework agreement during the regular sessions of three municipalities:
- The municipality of Tétouan, as the 9th item on its agenda, in the presence of the SLEC project coordinator;
- The municipality of Al Hoceima;
- The municipality of Chefchaouen.
The remaining three municipalities held their regular sessions as follows:
- Thursday, October 5, 2023: presentation and vote of the framework agreement during the regular session of the municipality of Melloussa;
- Friday, October 6, 2023: presentation and vote of the framework agreement during the regular session of the municipality of Ouezzane;
- Wednesday, October 18, 2023: presentation and vote of the framework agreement during the regular session of the municipality of Tangier.
